Ausstellung von Raphaël Fischer-Dieskau and Nils Blau
Vernisage: 09.09.2020 um 19 Uhr
Ausstellung: 10.09. – 13.09.2020 von 17-20 Uhr

“Ok, contact allowed” is a multi-sensorial work conceived by Raphaël Fischer-Dieskau and Nils Blau.
The exhibition presents a newly created collaborative work, combining the respective fields of expertise of the two artists, integrating traditional sculptural practices in ceramics with technological explorations within mechanics and sound works.
The viewer is met with an abstract shape standing lonesome in an otherwise empty room. Ever so gently vibrating and emitting sounds inherent to its form, the sculptural work invites visitors to engage in an immediate way with its peculiarities. Touching, embracing and listening to the gentle whispers: contact is allowed and expected.
Dealing with themes of intimacy, relatability and irritation, rationalization and feeling, as well as a reassessment of the boundaries of language, the exhibition aims at distorting utopian views and encouraging a discourse concerning the conceptualization of reality and mundanity.
The work presents an associative capability, leaving room for interpretation. An invitation for interaction on multiple levels, “Ok, contact allowed” plays teasingly with a certain directness. Not much else is asked of the visitor other than to engage with the body intimately, disregarding any sort of pseudo-intellectual exchange. Learning is not the goal, only to experience everything which is offered. Unconditional closeness is key. There is no room for inhibitions. Even the functionality of the installation is left free to be seen and acknowledged. The demystifying quality of the work questions idealistic concepts circulating within artistic constructs.
The motion of body and tension of form allow for a relatability regarding the work, while simultaneously edging towards the boundaries of uncertainty and illusiveness.
Whoever enters the exhibition space is urged to leave behind any and all prejudices and to make contact.
